Every time my family moved internationally, there was a period when everything we owned was somewhere in the middle of an ocean.
For a few weeks, we lived with only the essentials. A furnished apartment. A few clothes. Basic kitchen supplies. No clutter. No extras.
What surprised me was not what I missed.
It was how clearly I could think.
The hard problems became easier to focus on because nothing trivial was competing for attention.
Organizations face the same challenge.
